If you thoroughly enjoy what you are doing for a living and can appreciate who you are working with or for, you will have a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment that no one can ever take away from you. This is one of the mottos that Robin Mountain has lived by for nearly 30 years while working in accounting.
The variety of clients I have provides me with great enjoyment but also poses a challenge at the same time. Some clients want me to come to their location, while others are fine with me doing everything online. Some want to do as much of the work as they can by themselves, using me as their back up, and others just want to know that they made money and leave all the details to me. Every day is different; I guess that’s what I love about my career the most.”
Completing her last year of college in 1988 at the University of Toronto by obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Economics, she landed her first full-time position that very same year in banking while simultaneously enrolling in the local Certified General Accountants (CGA) program. Ten long years and two positions in manufacturing companies later, she finally completed her CGA designation.
